Stewardship

People in our community have an appreciation for the Boardman River as it meanders through our forests, fields and towns.  A river of this quality is a globally rare resource and a priceless community asset.  Proper care and stewardship of this gem are critical to its long-term health. The removal of dams on the Boardman will allow it return to a more natural state as a free-flowing, cold-water river.  It will truly be a river reborn.

But, the work doesn't stop with the removal of the dams.  Long-term stewardship of the Boardman River is needed to ensure that this precious natural resource remains one of the region's gems.  From planning to restoration and ongoing care and cleanup, stewardship will require the commitment of area citizens.

The Boardman River Stewardship Committee has been formed and is currently in the process of planning and organizing stewardship activities.  Click here to view the Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for the facilitation of the process and completion of a Boardman River Sub‐Watershed Prosperity Plan.
